French-born singer and instrumentalist Victoria Legrand and Baltimore native multi-instrumentalist Alex Scally met each other in Baltimore’s indie rock-scene in 2004. After spending a good amount of time writing and producing songs, the melodious couple confronted the realization that they needed a title for themselves. A variety of whimsical names were considered until they concluded with a simplistic yet sincere title: Beach House. The two have been creating dream-like and auditorily hypnotizing music ever since.

Their albums have received critical acclaim throughout the years, and they recently released an album on October 16, 2015 titled “Thank Your Lucky Stars”. One of their most prominent albums, “Bloom”, mirrored the band’s musical and developmental growth, making the title of the album all the more meaningful. After releasing their dynamic album “Teen Dream”, listeners thought Beach House had already bloomed to their full potential, but 2012’s “Bloom” proved them wrong by providing a set of songs that burst with emotional depth and that put listeners into an illustrious universe of the musicians’ own creation.

Beach House is an imaginative and unique band that proves that simplicity can still make a large impact when it comes to music. They manage to describe indescribable emotions through song in an unhurried and relaxed way. This teams brings songs that are an ironic mixture of angst and appreciation toward the world.
