Kate Winslet is not only the actress that out lived the Titanic, but it also a positive body image icon for young women in Hollywood.

Amongst her interviews with CBS Sunday Morning, Winslet opens up about how she wishes that women in this starstruck town would not get carried away with their appearance. Young new stars shouldn’t worry about what older stars were like but what they want to become. “You know, we walk down red carpets. You know, it’s part of our job. But I think I feel very strongly that it’s important to also say to young girls that we don’t look like that all the time,” Winslet says.

Clearly, not every woman looks perfect twenty-four seven. It is not about the cameras anymore. It is about being confident in yourself and what you look like.

Even after all the Golden Globes and other awards, Kate Winslet has put herself into a selfless position in order to promote positive body image. She refuses to be retouched for commerical ads with the beauty company L’Oreal.

Winslet has taken this upon herself as a responsibility to influence the younger generations. Women look at other women as inspiration for success. Winslet values the power of being completely honest about natural beauty to help upcoming stars feel confident in their own skin.
