Junior Arman Ghafari  and senior Rachael Helfrich are two of the most involved students at El Modena.  They are always working together, whether it comes to class projects or their events in Speech and Debate.  This unique partnership highlights teamwork at its finest.

Frontline: How are you involved at El Modena?

Arman Ghafari: I am involved in Speech and Debate, Mock Trial, Varsity Tennis, French Club, Vanguard Crew, NHS, and Science Olympiad.

Rachael Helfrich: I’m the secretary for NHS, Vice President of French club, and I am involved in Speech and Debate, Vanguard Crew, and I’m in six AP classes.

FL: What events do you do in Speech and Debate?

AG: I do Dramatic Interpretation and Congress, and Rachael is my partner for Duo Interpretation, Public Forum, and Parliamentary Debate.

RH: I also do Duo Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Public Forum, and Parliamentary Debate.

FL: Which extracurricular is your favorite?

AG: Speech and Debate.

RH: Speech and Debate.

FL: How are you involved outside of school?

AG: I am planning on volunteering at Choc.

RH: I volunteer at the Orange County Rescue Mission.  It is an organization that helps the homeless.

FL: What is your favorite class and why?

AG: AP Calculus, because Mrs. Lissner is one of my favorite teachers.

RH: AP Chemistry because I love science.
