20 year old, Christopher Cornell, had been wanted by the FBI for various posts, on social media, about planning an attack on the U.S. Capitol. He was hiding under the name of “Raheel Mahrus Ubaydah”, and hatched an elaborate scheme similar to the recent attacks that were in France. Cornell was then arrested on January 14 before having a chance to put his plot into action.

“The plan: Set off pipe bombs to put lawmakers and employees in panicked flight and then gun them down with an assault rifle as they ran across his path and that of an accomplice. He had also purchased 2 M-15 rifles with 600 rounds of ammunition.” -CNN

The aftermath of the France situation left a much more dire situation than we all expected besides just living in constant fear of speaking your mind.
