Overrated Music Remains Overrated, Underrated Music Remains Underrated

The Grammy board gives little attention to underrated artist yet again

The Grammy’s has officially released their nominees for the 57th annual event. The nominees are very pop dominated, as most of these nominees are new entertainers to the music world.

Song of the Year nominees include singers Hozier (Take me to Church), Sia (Chandelier), Sam Smith (Stay With Me), Meghan Trainor (All About The Bass) and Taylor Swift (Shake it Off). Album of the Year include “Morning Phase” by Beck, “Beyonce” by Beyonce, “X” by Ed Sheeran, “In the Lonely Hour” by Sam Smith, and “GIRL” by Pharrell Williams. The big winner predicted to sweep away the Grammy night is definitely the fresh new singer Sam Smith.

This year, with all nominees found at this link http://www.grammy.com/nominees, it is very clear that many musicians felt robbed. The show focused exclusively on pop music and those who deserve to win will undeniably lose to a bigger musician.

An example of an artist who will be robbed at the 57th Grammy’s will be Ed Sheeran. Sheeran’s album “X” was a true masterpiece, but it will surely lose to another album due to the fact it is underrated. His single “I See Fire” should have been nominated for Song of the Year, yet it wasn’t even up for consideration.

This year the award show chose it’s nominees and hopefully next year it will be better than this year. The 57th Grammy’s lineup does not compare to the 56th Grammy’s last year (which included sepectaclar musicians/nominees, such as Daft Punk, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and many more).
