An Insider with the Valedictorian
Frontline: Do you feel that all the hard work was worth it?
Mitch McCormick: “I worked hard, but it was not to achieve becoming valedictorian. I do feel that it was worth it, especially because it benefits my future.”
FL: Did you do any extracurriculars? If so, how did you balance that out with school work and social life?
MM: “I was in a church group outside of school, I was in clubs, and I played football. With football I would get home around seven, and I didn’t have much time to do my schoolwork and would often stay up instead of sleeping. In football, I learned a lot about discipline and I carried that with me; it has become a characteristic that I am proud to live by.”
