Getting Involved in College

Are You Scared About Making Friends in College?

College is a scary time for many incoming freshmen as it is a first time away from home for most people. A great way to challenge the feelings of antisocialness and insecurity about making friends is to get involved at your school!

Greek life is a great opportunity to get involved and meet new people, not only do you become part of a tight knit family, you meet new people and are able to get out of your comfort zone.

If Greek life is not for you, most colleges offer clubs for anything from politics to crafts. The most common college extracurriculars are religious clubs, reading clubs, community service clubs, publication clubs (school newspapers), and more!

No matter what you are interested in, you can find a club to connect with people, and if there isn’t a club for your interests, you can create one. College is a time to learn who you really are and clubs are one of the best and easiest ways to make friends and get out of your comfort zone.
