International week at El Modena started on April 18, 2022 to April 22, 2022. During this fun-filled week, cultural clubs have the opportunity to spread and educate others around the school about their culture.

M.E.Ch.A. (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán) starts off international week with papel picado draped in between the 400 and 500’s buildings. Monday bursts open international week with a piñata.

B.S.U. (Black Student Union) had a jump roping activity during lunch on Tuesday.

F.A.S.E. (Filipino Asian Student Education) and V.S.A. (Vietnamese Student Association) had an activity during lunch, testing your luck with a game of Bầu Cua Tôm Cá.

On Friday, the international week assembly was combined with the spring sports assembly. The Spanish classes danced to “La Bamba” and recited a poem. The French classes danced  to”C’est la vie.” F.A.S.E. performed a rhythmic traditional dance with poles, Tinikling. V.S.A danced to Sài Gòn Đẹp Lắm. M.E.Ch.A. performed a dance with a beautiful dress, and great choreography.

After the assembly, Vanguards were blessed with an extended lunch where clubs sold delicious food. V.S.A sold crispy eggrolls, Bánh mì sandwiches, and Vietnamese iced coffee. F.A.S.E. sold thirst-quenching boba. M.E.Ch.A. sold savory tacos, and refreshing agua frescas. B.S.U. sold apple and peach pie, lemonade ice tea, chicken, rice, mac n cheese.

Through the sharing of food, dance, music, and more, clubs and classes of El Modena spread education of the diverse culture of students among us.
