Christmas Crack
This Holiday Treat Will Leave You Conked on the Floor
Ingredients:
- 1 sleeve of saltine crackers
- 1 cup of packed brown sugar
- 1 cup of unsalted butter
- ¼ teaspoon of kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 cups of unsweetened chocolate
Directions
- Make a layer of saltine crackers at the bottom of your tray
- Make a caramel sauce with brown sugar and butter and cook on low heat, stirring occasionally
- Pour in the vanilla extract
- Pour a layer of caramel on top of the crackers
- Bake them in the oven for 5 minutes at 450 degrees
- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and pour it over the caramel layer
- Crush up candy canes and sprinkle on top of the chocolate
- Sprinkle some salt on top of the chocolate
- Allow for the chocolate to harden overnight
- Cut or break the chocolate into smaller pieces
