Falling in Love “When We Were Young”
Listen to Adele’s Tune Flawlessly Match the Feelings of Fall
The air cools, green leaves crisp, and music feels more reassuring. Lifelong singer Adele is most talented in channeling icy feelings, but singing it passionately enough to feel warmth throughout your heart. If fall was defined through a song, it would be Adele’s “When We Were Young.”
The song begins with a constant, solemn piano melody, and transitions into Adele’s singing. As her singing leads to the chorus, the pre-chorus voices, “you look like a movie, you sound like a song. My god this reminds me of when we were young.” Remembrance may leave you feeling frigid and bitter, but the irreplaceable way a person made you felt could melt the ice sheet on your heart.
Adele’s chorus is the equivalent of placing your hands on a warm cup of coffee after losing feeling from the numbing air. Her voice shakes with the power, and her singing has death grip control.
The fierceness in her chorus sang, “ Let me photograph you in this light in case this is the last time that we might…be exactly like we were before we realised, we were sad of getting old, it made us restless. It was just like a movie, it was just like a song.”
Her song is seasonal change. People are aware it’ll happen, but never accurately anticipate when. Change may make you miss heat, but a new type of warmth is introduced. It’s warmth that must be found, and when found, it’s cherished.
