School Fun Before Summer Sun

Upcoming senior activities you’ll want to be apart of

As the year draws to a close it becomes the bitter-sweet time of lasts for seniors. The entire senior class will be saying their farewells to the life they lived at El Modena.

Alongside the farewells comes a series of festivities to celebrate this year’s graduating class of 2021. Many groups have come together to put on the best events for El Modena’s seniors, though not all are associated with the school.

Outside groups made up of parents of the seniors have put together a Prom night, which will be hosted at AV Irvine on May 30th.  More information on this event can be found on their Instagram page @elmoprom2021.

Another event not associated with El Modena is the volunteer-led Grad Night. Following the theme of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, “The One With the Grad Night Bash,” will be hosted on June 10th from 10 pm-4 am. More information can be found on their Instagram page @elmogradnight2021.

School-led events include a series of ceremonies to honor the hard work of students for the past four years. This includes the Senior Awards, which will take place on May 27th at 6 pm at the El Modena Amphitheater. This is an invitation-only event, though.

Another ceremony includes the Baccalaureate, which will be hosted on June 6th at 6:30, as it will continue to follow the tradition of being hosted the Sunday before graduation. All are welcome.

Seniors will also be able to spend time with their classmates and pick up their yearbooks on June 7th at 4 pm. This will also include a picnic for the students where they’ll be socially distanced, but able to sign each other’s mementos. However, a $6 ticket will need to be purchased in room A1 for this event.

As the seniors’ final days at  Fred Kelly are upon us, a stadium many students have not stepped foot in since its renovation, a Senior Movie Night will be hosted on June 4th at 7 pm, where seniors will be able to enjoy watching UP.

Now to finish off the week on June 9th at 10 am, seniors will be able to go down memory lane walking alongside the rest of their classmates as they visit the neighboring schools we all attended growing up.
