El Modena is Going Green

El Modena’s new solar panels represent a constructive push toward green energy

The Orange Unified School District has helped fund the installation of new solar panels in the student and teacher parking lots at El Modena High School. These panels will help rework the electrical service for the campus by offsetting the school’s electrical costs by around 85%, saving money for future campus improvements.

While producing a considerable amount of energy for school facilities, the solar panels simultaneously provide shade for cars and provide an opportunity for students to learn about solar power through SoCal Edison’s education program.

El Modena aspires to rely on solar energy to power future projects, including the installation of solar panels on the new science building and the utilization of solar energy for Phase II of the campus renovation project.
