Team Tribute: Thank You Baseball Boys

To my coaches, teammates, and everyone who supported us throughout the season, I would like to say thank you for giving me a year full of memories that I will cherish forever.  When I came back from football and rolled into baseball practice, I felt a different vibe than I had the last two years.  This beacon of hope shed its light immediately once we started playing games, as we went 3-1 in our annual Palm Desert Tournament after going 0-4 last season.

There was a lot of excitement heading into this season.  The field was different due to construction and we had a senior heavy class, all of whom bonded well with the younger guys.

Unfortunately, it seemed things came to an end as fast as they started due to the COVID-19 outbreak causing school to close for the rest of the year.  This pandemic may have taken our season away, but it didn’t affect our relationships with each other.  We were a very close group of guys and we continue to remain in touch during this quarantine.  If there’s one thing I have learned while spending most of my days locked in my house, it’s that the relationships you make with those closest to you is more important than any success you have without anyone by your side.  And for that, I am truly grateful for the friendships I made this season.

To the seniors, thank you for everything you guys did this year.  You all are a special group and I’m glad I got to be a part of that group.  Like I am trying to do, I hope you all continue to move forward and hold on to the relationships that matter most to you. Again, thank you all for an unforgettable season.
