How Mrs. Kim impacted lives

Frontline: How has Mrs. Kim impacted your life? 

Katlin Ramos (junior): “She was there for me during my sophomore year when I truly needed help or just wasn’t feeling well. Talking to her made my day, and knowing that she went through something that I went through impacted me because it felt like someone was there for me.”

FL: What did you learn from her class? 

KR: “What I learned is that if you ever need help from anyone, It’s always good to try and talk to your teachers.”

FL: What was your favorite moment with her? 

KR: “It was more of a personal matter, but I was talking about something personal, and it turned out she had that same thing too, she went out of her way to go talk to the office and try and help me. It made me feel happy.”

 

Frontline:  How has Mrs. Kim impacted your life?

Monserrat Garcia (junior): “Mrs. Kim taught me that even though I may not have such a crazy life, I can still find inspiration in the smallest things to write about.”

FL: What did you learn from her class? 

MG: “I learned how to fully annotate my essays and how grammar is really important.”

FL: What was your favorite moment with her? 

MG: “My favorite moment is when we had our finals and we were sitting in a circle [socratic seminar] and had to talk about a poem we read, and a teacher came in and told us that they’re talking a final so we should be quiet, and she [Mrs. Kim] said “We’re taking a final so you be quiet.” That was hilarious.”

 

Frontline:  How has Mrs. Kim impacted your life?

Mariana Sarinana (junior): “Personally, I really liked how you got to know about other people in the class which don’t talk to you all that much, and you got to talk about yourself, so you really got to form a bond.”

FL: What did you learn from her class? 

MS: “Mostly time management and organization, but that’s more because of me as a person. I wasn’t so good at that, so it was kind of my goal coming into the classroom.”

FL: What was your favorite moment with her?

MS: “I don’t have a favorite moment. Pretty much any time you’re with her is fun.”

 

Frontline:  How has Mrs. Kim impacted your life?

Seban Khan (junior): “Mrs. Kim taught me that teachers in high school have a greater capacity to care than middle school teachers.”

FL: What did you learn from her class? 

SK: “I learned how to keep my grades up and be responsible for my work.”

FL: What was your favorite moment with her? 

SK: “This one time, she tried to eat a chocolate chip cookie, but there were raisins in it, and she was really grossed out. It was kinda funny.”

 

Frontline:  How has Mrs. Kim impacted your life?

Landon Rangel (junior): “She impacted us by dragging us out of what we call depression and showed us amazing organizational skills.”

FL: What did you learn from her class? 

LR: “Like I said, she taught us splendid organization.”

FL: What was your favorite moment with her? 

LR: “My favorite moment were the amazing stories she told us every week. They were lovely, I’ll tell you that.”
