National Coming Out Day

GSA’s poster helps spread positivity among the community

During Anti-bullying week, the club GSA (Gender and Sexuality Alliance) pinned up a poster on the cafeteria wall in the quad to celebrate “National Coming Out Day.” They were handing out post-it notes for anyone to stick encouraging words onto the poster. “The poster was a way to get everyone involved. Even if you’re not gay, or don’t know anyone who is, you can still get involved and help spread some positivity,” comments Junior Jocelyn Ha, a leader of the club.

The poster helps spread positivity and a sense of belonging to those who may have difficulty declaring their sexuality. “There aren’t many ways that people can come out, so this poster really helps with that,” Ha says.
