El Modena girls’ golf’s last varsity match was October 11, 2018 at the Anaheim Hills Golf Course against Canyon High. Canyon won 219-273. El Modena was content with their score, and they enjoyed playing on a course most of the team has not played before.

The following Tuesday, October 16, 2018, three varsity players went to Dad Miller and participated in league individuals. They played 18 holes with girls from other schools in the district. In round 1 Whitley Pearsall received a 98, Hannah Cox received a 103, and Lauren Fong received a 103. This gave the three girls a chance to move onto round two. In round two Pearsall scored a 101, Cox scored 91, and Fong scored a 102. They were not able to advance to round 3 but Pearsall says, “The best part about playing was meeting girls from other schools and watching to see how they played the course.”

Now that the season has concluded, the golf team is proud of the effort they put into their sport and the time they dedicated during their week. This season Pearsall says, “The team got closer with each other and we all improved in ourselves and it made the difference for this season.”
