Jack Torrance, his wife Wendy, and their 5 year old son Danny, move into the eerie OverLook Hotel during the winter. Jack is the hired caretaker, trying to write a play while battling with alcoholism. Wendy is the loving wife who just wants the best for her husband and son. Danny is left alone witnessing first hand the supernatural entities that haunt the hotel, more specifically, in room 217.  Stuck in isolation for five months until the hotel reopens later in the spring, the Torrance family attempt to hold onto their sanity as the hotel slowly takes over Jack, manipulating him to harm Wendy and Danny. Published in 1977, Stephen King writes the ultimate horror novel that leaves readers terrified as they scream, “REDRUM! REDRUM!”
