From September 16 to October 31, families can go enjoy the Halloween festivities that Irvine Park has to offer. Take advantage of free entry to the Pumpkin Patch (with paid entry into the park).
This Halloween event is geared towards children, with a variety of bouncy houses, face-painting, train rides, hay rides, and many arts and crafts activities. Although the pumpkin patch itself is marketed to children and families, Irvine Park offers volunteer opportunities for high school students, and many students at El Modena take the opportunity to join in on the fun festivities.
Senior Mia Granados says, “It’s really fun, there’s always a lot of things to do, (and) the kids are super cute.” Granados relates her love of fall to her love of working at the Pumpkin Patch.
When asked what a normal job would be like at the Pumpkin Patch, Granados says, “It depends what station they put you on, it’s just basically a bunch of carnival games for little kids.”
Granados emphasizes how much joy she gets from working there. “They have these mini John Deere tractors that the kids go on, they’re so cute.”
Overall, there are opportunities for all people to enjoy the fall season at Irvine Park. Visiting the Pumpkin Patch is a fun and safe way of getting into the Halloween spirit for this fall.
