Just this August, senior Alan Sanchez has released his band’s first album, “America De Los Gentiles” on Spotify. Lux Vestra is a large musical group that has been in the works for the past ten years, but only began recording just around this time last year. Sanchez, the youngest and only high school member of Lux Vestra, plays the guitar.

Just this summer, Sanchez began to play at a rehabilitation home, alongside senior Justin Ellis. Sanchez went to visit a family friend after she had suffered from a stroke, and he felt that the environment “just seemed really sad, so I wanted to go play there.” The residents enjoyed the music so much that he continued to go back and spread the joy of his music several more times.

Alan Sanchez has been musically inclined ever since he was young, starting with the drums and eventually moving onto the guitar when he was around ten years old. Though he primarily focuses on acoustic guitar, he can also play the saxophone and ukulele. To add to his list, Sanchez is currently learning how to play the French horn and piano as well.
