On May 27, a legend of the music world passed. Gregg Allman, a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, passed away at his home in Georgia. Allman was a pioneer of the southern rock and roll music scene during the early 70’s. The Allman Brothers were staples of the genre during the time, and remain popular even to today. Most of the original band members have passed already. Gregg’s cause of death was due to liver cancer. Despite the sadness surrounding the group and Gregg Allman himself, and the deaths of the members, the Allman Brothers Band will always be remembered throughout time for their pioneering efforts in trailblazing the southern rock and roll genre to the mainstream.
