Saturday April 29th El Mo’s Baseball team played at Angel Stadium against Brea Olinda High. The Vanguards won 4-0 In what head coach Josh Kliner called, “a good game in which we pitched and fielded well.”
Not an easy feat either. According to Kliner, “The wind was blowing straight in the batters face.” But it was going to take more than than a little wind to ruin the day for this coach. “It’s always a great experience to play there” said Kliner. He added that “it never gets old playing at Angel Stadium, and I love seeing how the players react.”
Kliner also stated that, “It’s stressful trying to balance strategy and experience, but at the and of the day I’m glad that everyone got to pitch or had an at-bat”
One of those who pitched was senior starter Nolan Kuchta. “It was awesome playing at such a big stadium, and thinking about all the big leaguers that played there before us.” said Kuchta.
Kuchta also stated that, “It was great to see our friends and family out there supporting us.” However, he was really happy the team got the win saying, “The best part definitely was shutting out Brea on their big day.”
