It’s officially May, and for many Vanguards, that brings mixed emotions. On the bright side, that means summer, or even graduation, is just six weeks away. However, there is a big obstacle to face this month that may make those six weeks feel longer: AP testing.

For the next two weeks, advanced placement testing will ensue all over the El Modena campus. There are morning sessions which start at 8 AM, and afternoon sessions that start at 12 PM. For both testing times, it is recommended to arrive prior to the time stated, because if a student is late, their test may be given away to someone who was on the waiting list to take the test.

Testing locations may be in various classrooms, but also, if a large enough body of students is taking the test, it may be in the gym. To determine where to go, AP teachers will most likely give out that information, but if not, just ask them and they will help.

To those taking an AP test (or multiple AP tests), the best thing to do at this point is rest. Light review of materials is a good idea, but cramming has been proven to not be beneficial, particularly if it is the night before the test. One needs to go into the test feeling relaxed and well rested, so they may focus better.

That said, good luck to those taking AP tests in these upcoming weeks. Don’t forget your #2 pencils, black pens, erasers, and watch, and make El Modena proud.
