As many seniors start to receive acceptance letters, senior Pedro Velasco has chosen to accept and attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in the fall of 2017. He plans to major in sports medicine with hopes of becoming a sports medicine physician to help injured athletes.

When Velasco was asked his motivation and reason he chose to commit to a four-year, he stated, “My parents motivated me to keep going and never give up on what I wanted to accomplish. I chose a four-year because I didn’t want to go through the complications of transferring from community to a university.”

He stated that he is very excited about going to UNLV because he enjoys being in Las Vegas and is very excited about going to college like he has dreamed. Velasco is looking forward to a fresh start in his education career along with meeting new people on campus and getting involved with school activities that are offered at UNLV. He hopes to make the best of his future at UNLV.
