45 Rages over Nordstrom’s Dropping of Ivanka Trump Line

Ivanka Trump’s shoe, clothing, and jewelry lines have been dropped from all Nordstrom’s stores due to the steadily declining sales of the brand. The decision had been discussed with Ms. Trump this year in early January, but was officially taken off the store stock during the first and second weeks of February.

President Trump tweeted that his eldest daughter was being “treated unfairly” by the store at 7:51 AM on February 8th. He describes her as “a great person” who always pushed him to “do the right thing!” This public complaint has raised questions about other brands (such as Neiman Marcus) removing the line with no whining from 45 whatsoever.

Ms. Trump’s products have been given less dominance over other brands in stores like Macy’s, TjMaxx, and Marshall’s.

Nordstrom’s statement said that, “over the past year, and particularly in the last half of 2016, sales of the brand have steadily declined to the point where it didn’t make good business sense for us to continue with the line for now. We’ve had a great relationship with the Ivanka Trump team.” Ms. Kellyanne Conway has been promoting the brand through its online store.
