Today was the last day before the long-awaited Christmas vacation and, despite the rain, an atmosphere of joy filled the school. It rained all morning, meaning that whole rivers blocked parts of the hallway and caused most of the students to find creative ways of getting to their classes, such as finding new routes, or even trying to jump over them–ultimately failing in their attempts and getting their shoes wet, as was my own case. The campus was alight with colors coming from student’s ugly Christmas sweaters, stored away in closets and waiting all year to be unleashed on the world. As is tradition, choir enlightened select classes with their wonderful Christmas tunes and festive headwear.
In fourth period, the student body gathered in the gymnasium for the Winter Sport’s Assembly. Basketball, cheer, and dance entertained everyone with their dance performances, choir caroling their gentle tunes before the school, and the small group of men silencing everyone with their lovely melody. The wish fairy delivered joy to teachers and students alike, providing much needed supplies to the adults and amusement to the student body as he pranced around gracefully in his pretty pink tutu.
Several classes held small parties with pizza and other goodies to snack on, watching movies and T.V. show episodes. Discussions were endless in regard to the awesome things students had planned for the winter break. Well, that long-awaited and much needed break has finally arrived, and so it is now time for me to bid you goodbye, wish you happy holidays and a wonderful new year.
