Do you remember Cindy Lou Who from “How The Grinch Stole Christmas”? The little girl who nominates the Grinch (Jim Carrey) for Holiday Cheermeister? Do you ever wonder what she looks like now or what she’s been up to since living in Whoville?

Well, now Taylor Momsen is all grown up and frontwoman for the rock band, The Pretty Reckless. And she looks very different without the signature Cindy Who updo.

Since starring as the adorable Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Momsen has modeled, acted, but has mostly focused on her music career. She was the face of Madonna’s fashion line, Material Girl, and is currently the face of Samantha Thavasa’s handbag line. Momsen was Alexandra, the President’s daughter, in Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams, auditioned for the role of Hannah Montana (although was happy in the long run that the role was given to Miley Cyrus), and starred as Jenny Humphrey for the CW show “Gossip Girl” from 2007-2012. However, music has been what stuck for most of her life.

She formed her band The Pretty Reckless in 2009 and played their first tour opening for The Veronicas on their Revenge is Sweeter Tour in spring 2009. Their debut album, Light Me Up, was released on August 30, 2010 in the UK. Some songs from Light Me Up have been featured in the movie Kick-Ass, and in CW TV shows “Gossip Girl” and “The Vampire Diaries”. Heidi Montag recorded “Blackout”, a song written by Momsen, who apparently wrote the song when she was 8 years old. “Going to Hell” was released on March 18, 2014 and marked the band’s largest sales week, landing at #5 on the Billboard 200 with over 35,000 copies sold in its first week. They also broke records by becoming the first female-fronted band to reach No. 1 on the rock radio charts with singles “Heaven Knows” (March 2014) and “Fucked Up World” (September 2014). The Pretty Reckless were also on tour from late 2013-2014 supporting “Going To Hell”. They also supported Fall Out Boy in their European leg of the “Save Rock n Roll” Tour with New Politics 2014. On September 29, their song “Take Me down” was released and reached #2 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart. The third album, “Who You Selling For” was released on October 21st, 2016.

Taylor Momsen has changed a lot since being Cindy Lou Who when she was just 5 years old, and seems to be much happier after finding her niche in music. However, we will always enjoy watching her bring some much needed holiday cheer to Whoville every year.
