The new 2016 school year here at El Modena has brought back many old and new students. The old students knowing exactly how life is at ElMo, and the new students are slowly catching up with them. But school has only been back for a month, it isn’t too serious yet… or is it?

With the return of the school year, we were introduced to new bathrooms, and random new digital announcment boards, as well as new teacher. We caught up with old friends and were seated next to new future friends. Everything still seems like it needs to be adjusted to itself, reworked or tested, in order to get the most efficient response out of the students.

Many missing syllabi and the lack of required notebooks show the lack of seriousness in some students. Only a month in, and these first impressions can harm the good habits you want to develop this school year.

Especially for juniors and seniors, the students suffering the most from the taunting finish line creeping up closer and closer to them. These are the students that need to be ready to go by the 3rd day of school. They can not miss their moment to shine this school year.

And neither should you. Lets work hard to make this a successful year.
