The return of school also means the return of our deadly enemy: Procrastination.

To some, procrastination is seen as the worst thing that can happen to a student, but to others it is a blessing.

Procrastination distracts us from putting our full effort into an assingment. It does not allow us to reach our full potential, stressing many out, and taking away many hours of valuable sleep a growing student dearly needs.

Procrastination to others is seen as the best thing. It can help us live our life, while continuing our school work. Many believe that school should come second to health, and that procrastination helps our mental health. It allows us to destress and create a relaxation period. Many students are willing to give up their sleep in order to finish the book or T.V. show they oh so desperately needed to see the ending to. Isabella Marquez, a senior, replied to a text of mine at 2 AM. with “I am procrastinating right now by agreeing being interviewed by you…” She is another student who would rather loose sleep than recieve a missing score on an assignment. But with her procrastination, her day was more lively than just working on her projects all day long.

Although procrastination has returned along with school, I hope everyone can find a balance in order to live a healthy and happy life, along with being proud of their academic grades.
