Frontline: What’s the name of the band and who are the members?

Revelstoke Sanz: We’re still deciding on a band name, even though we’ve come up with several (i.e. Bone Box Booby Trap, PortaParty & Hot Chicken). We just can’t decide yet. Though the members are Caleb Vanderwall on the guitar, George Michaelis on the keyboard, and I’m on the drums.

FL: How did the band arise?

RS: Sometime around May I learned that Vanderwall was playing the guitar and I knew somewhat how to play the drums, so over the summer he’d come over several times a week and we would jam in my garage for hours. It was never anything we took seriously until October, and even now it’s just something we take lightly and do for fun, kind of like an outlet for us.

FL: What genre of music do you guys play and who are your influences as a band?

RS: We mostly play Surf Rock/Punk for the most part, but we’ll play anything that sounds good to us. Some of our influences include Dick Dale, The Ventures, The Specials, and Led Zeppelin.

FL: Have you played live or plan to play live in the future?

RS: We’ve only played live a handful of times, just on Halloween and birthday parties. This past Saturday we played at a Christmas party. On December 30th, we’ll be playing a show but the details on where it’s happening and when are still a mystery.

FL: Where can students listen to your music?

RS:  We still have a lot of work to do–songwriting wise–before we can start recording anything. But, we do have plans to record in the not-so-distant future.

FL: What’s the future for the band?

RS: I hope that we can still have as much fun playing with each other in the future as we do now and as progressing musicians, we want to improve as much as we can and have a good time.
